What do I bring?
A valid state of Georgia fishing license is required for all persons over the age of 16 years to fish. Georgia fishing licenses can readily be obtained online at https://georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes or by phone to 1-800-366-2661
Please bring any snacks or drinks to wish to consume. Your boat will always be equipped with fresh drinking water as needed.
Please wear appropriate attire for your adventure. This may include, but not limited to: a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, raingear and even cold weather gear during winter excursions. Photographers, serious birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will wish to bring any associated gear. If you are travelling without your binoculars, let us know and we can help.
How long is my adventure and what time do we start?
Guided fishing trips are available for 4 hours and 6 hours each. Stand-alone nature excursions will typically be around 2 hours long.
Morning fishing trips will be scheduled to start just prior to sunrise (6 a.m. during summer months), and evening trips will be scheduled accordingly to ensure we return you to port just after sunset. We can work around your schedule, but these time frames include peak feeding times and the best catching opportunities.
Where do we meet?
We typically choose a Army Corps or State Park ramp to meet at, but we will pick up at your dock if staying lakeside.
Galt's Ferry Landing and Day Use area is a very common meeting location. This is located at 7299 Rocky Ln, Acworth, GA 30102
Another common meeting location isthe Red Top Mountain State Park boat ramp located at 513 Red Top Mountain Rd. Cartersville Ga 30121
We do adjust meeting locations accordingly to accommodate the fact that fish have fins and move around a lot, and will start the closest to where the best schools are currently located of any given species we target.
Can we keep our catch?
If you wish to keep fish, this is typically pre-arranged and at the discretion of your captain.
We do practice catch-photo-release of all landlocked Striped Bass while on Lake Allatoona. If you have pre-arranged with us to keep some fish of any other species, please bring a cooler and ice as needed for transport.
Can you accommodate my unique schedule?
Lake Allatoona is located just 30 miles north of Atlanta. For those that live or work in the city, Lake Allatoona is truly a little slice of heaven here on earth.
We have a clear understanding of the hustle and bustle of city life, work scheduling, etc. and we will strive to do our very best to accommodate your schedule.
For many of our guests, an evening fishing adventure may be absolutely ideal. We have been consistently catching many larger hybrids and stripers in the early evening hours, just before sunset. Night trips are also available for those looking for a fishing adventure under the night sky. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that may arise.
Can you teach us how to fish?
Absolutely! We continue to find the greatest joy in teaching a child or adult how to fish, even if it is for the first time. Several BSA merit badges have been earned aboard our boats along with so many first time fisherpersons. In summation, we cater to beginners, novice and avid or advanced fishers. No matter your skill level, we promise to teach you something new and exciting!
